Joe Gandelman

Joe Gandelman is an excellent ventriloquist and a natural comic who brings you an outstanding, professional act. His routines are carefully scripted and he uses expertly crafted ventriloquist figures made by top craftsmen in the field.

He began his love of ventriloquism while growing up in Connecticut. While he pursued his career in journalism, he started doing vent as a hobby again in the '80's. At the age of forty, Joe left his job as a staff writer on the San Diego Union newspaper to pursue a full-time career in ventriloquism, due in part to the encouragement of legendary Jimmy Nelson.

Joe's act features comedy, music and audience participation. He performs at schools, conventions, fairs and festivals. He uses more than eight different figures – his main one is John Raven, a wise-cracking Bart Simpson-like boy.

He is featured in the nationally distributed THE GREAT VENTRILOQUISTS collector cards along with such renown performers as Edgar Bergen, Shari Lewis, Señor Wences and Jimmy Nelson.
