"A few years ago I worked as a reporter/photographer for an itty bitty, inconsequential newspaper in Marshall, Michigan. In an effort to make the paper more respectable, we installed an entertainment section.

    Bill Engvall was one of only two celebrities I interviewed who were civil. Mr. Engvall was not only nice, but friendly. While we chatted on the phone, his children played in the background and his wife could be heard adding details to his story. Unlike many big names, this man has his feet on the ground. He was truly a joy to visit with for a half-hour!

It has been about four years since that phone interview (in which he shared with me his anticipation of getting some chili fries as soon as he hit Battle Creek) and I am STILL bragging about having met Bill Engvall. Just wanted to share that : )"
