Dana Point has captured the attention of audiences nationwide as guest comedienne on Russell Simmons "Def Comedy Jam." She is one of the most multi-talented comediennes on tour today. Dana has been heralded as a penetrating social observer for her stand up comedy, featured on such television shows as HBO's "Showtime at the Apollo" and "Best of BET's Comic View." She is a paid regular at the World Famous "Comedy Store" on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles.
Dana's social wit garnered the attention of Thomas Carter, who immediately cast her as a series regular on his critically acclaimed television show "Divas." She has appeared in feature films, including Savory Picture's poignant African-American Vietnam drama, "The Walking Dead."
Dana has been a special guest on numerous radio stations, such as Power 106 and 92.3 The Beat. As one of America's premiere performers, Dana Point has earned increasing fame for her hard hitting comic appearances on stage, exploring the dark underbelly of a woman of color's life in the nineties. Her mercurial talent is to the new millennium what Whoopi Goldberg's one-woman show was to the eighties.
This young woman is on the rise. She is the brass ring of the New Millennium. You can definitely look forward to seeing her in upcoming television and film projects. She is a quality act, full of potential.
Born in Chicago, Dana's family relocated to Los Angeles when the she was an infant. As a teen, Dana studied Theater Arts and appeared in numerous schools plays. Later, she honed her comedic talent at Los Angeles City College where she graduated with an Associates of Arts Degree in Psychology.
Dana Point is the Founder of the African American Kidney Foundation. This program is to give Dialysis patient's better resources to help them with their cultural needs. It also educates African American people on the need for Black organ donors.
