Although
Tom Sadge ("sage", as in page - silent "d") has entertained audiences with his many vocal
impressions over the past 20+ years, his Neil Diamond impression
was always the audience favorite. Tom was born with the talent of not
only a melodic voice, but with the talent of mimicry. He has honed and
perfected these two gifts since he discovered them at the age of ten,
when he did his first vocal impression as Neil Diamond
singing "Solitary
Man."
Audiences are immediately and wildly enthusiastic about Tom's uncanny
sound-alike and look-alike Neil Diamond act. He has performed as Neil
Diamond in many of the largest venues in North America and has appeared
with major headliners such as comedian Jackie Mason and superstar
Engelbert Humperdinck.
What makes Tom Sadge's Neil Diamond impersonation so
special? What audience members comment on after most performances is not
only Tom's authentic Neil Diamond costumes, movements, and
gestures...but his uncanny ability to sound so much like the real
Neil.
Tom's voice is so much like Neil Diamond's that he has
performed his vocal impression of the great legend on CDs, radio, and,
during one instance, even auditioned successfully for a major network's
daytime talk show when he sang "Sweet Caroline" and
"Cherry, Cherry" over the telephone! Popular Atlantic
City radio personality, the late Sonny Schwartz, once challenged
listeners to tell the difference between Tom's voice and Neil's.
Tom Sadge is the veteran of more than 5000
performances during his long career as a professional entertainer. He
has professionally performed his celebrity impressions not only as Neil
Diamond, but also Frank Sinatra, Elvis,
Engelbert Humperdinck, Barry
Manilow, and other singing, character and accented voices for
enthusiastic audiences everywhere! However, as a Neil Diamond
impersonator, the recent years have been the most exciting of Tom's
career.
Tom Sadge comments, "Nothing matches the thrill of
having a group of audience members approach you after a show and tell
you that your impersonation is so good that they got the chills while
watching you on stage. It makes it all worthwhile. No one can sing or
look exactly like Neil Diamond except the great legend himself. But, if
for a few fleeting moments I can convince the audience into thinking
they are watching the real Neil ... then all the hard work, practice and
persistence has been worth it."
