Friends of Distinction - booking information Formed in 1969 by Harry Elston and Floyd Butler – both alumni of Ray Charles' opening group The Hi-Fi's – Friends of Distinction produced two million seller hit songs on their first album, "Grazing," on RCA. "Grazin' in the Grass" and "Going in Circles" earned the group two gold records and their third album, "Real Friends," featured "Love or Let Me Be Lonely," which quickly topped the charts as a Top 10 single.

Chosen by Record World as the Best New R&B Group of 1969, in 1970, Friends of Distinction tied with Sly and the Family Stone for Top Vocal Combination honors in this prestigious magazine's annual R&B Awards.

Stylistically similar to The Fifth Dimension, The Friends of Distinction have appeared at Universal Amphitheater, The Greek Theater, Arco Arena, America West Arena, Arrowhead Pond of Anaheim, Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion, The House of Blues and Bally's Casino Resorts. They continue to electrify fans with their intricate harmonies and dynamic stage presence.
