DECADE SEARCH
and/or Style Search

You can conduct a search of this site to...
a.)  find artists who were (or are) professionally active during a specific decade in time, or
b.)  find artists who perform music associated with a particular decade.

Within any search box on this site, simply begin your search entry with "..", then enter the two last digits of the decade, followed by "s".

The search options are --

..40s, ..50s, ..60s, ..70s, ..80s, ..90s, and ..00s

The results can then be narrowed. For example, you can search for a list of artists who play music of the '60s or who recorded during the '60s and then search to find which of these specifically now play (or recorded) a particular style. For instance, "..classic rock".

Within the results page of the search you have just completed, click/select the entry box next to "within results". Then enter your next search. For example, you might do a search for "..classic rock". Remember this entry should include the "..". Without this, the results will be inaccurate and the returns will be in excess of your needs.

Remember, do a search with ".." preceding the last two digits of the decade. Then narrow the search. IMPORTANT: After performing a narrowed search, remember to UNCHECK the "within results" box to allow a regular full search in the future.

You can determine in which decade(s) a specific artist was active by going to the artist's HOME page and scrolling to the bottom of the page. Usually, the "Years active" will be posted on the left hand side of the page near the bottom of the page.
