Randy Erwin has been singing for more than fifteen years. His first gigs were in Dallas in the Deep Ellum part of town. During this time he played local opry stages and released a couple of LPs.

The records generated some National Public Radio network and music magazine publicity, and Randy was picked up by an independent London based label and was invited to tour England and Scotland. When he was there he played Wembley Arena, the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and little pubs all over the rest of the island along with a few BBC Radio and TV appearances.

An independent label in L.A. picked up the LP's and put out a re-release CD. Randy put out yet another CD on the same label and won best vocalist and best country western band that year in the Dallas Observer magazine.

Randy Erwin then moved to Alaska, lived there for three years, hiked a lot, learned to cross-country ski, wrote a lot of songs, and appeared on Tom Bodett's (Motel 6 commercial spokesman and author) syndicated radio show several times. He also performed at the Eskimo Olympics in the Northwest Territories, on the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation television network, and at coffee houses in Anchorage.

Randy then came back to Dallas and joined the group Cafe Noir as their singer. They won best jazz, avant-garde, world beat, and classical categories in the Dallas Observer. He sang on two CD's for them, and while he was singing with them they were booked by Columbia Artists Management who got them a showcase at the Carnegie Hall recital space.
