Milt Abel is a solid professional in
every respect. You will not see him pick on a group. His comedy is neither derisive nor
He first started performing in college, eventually writing, directing and
acting in his own plays for students and faculty. After graduating with honors from San
Jose State University, Milt Abel moved to San Francisco in search of a career in stand-up
comedy and a reasonably priced apartment no easy task in San Francisco. "I'm
beginning to think that Adam and Eve's real punishment wasn't so much that they had to
leave the garden, as it was that they had to find another place..."
A headlining stand-up comedian for more than ten years, he has performed
throughout the United States and Canada in venues ranging from corporate engagements to
cruise ships, from television to bars masquerading as comedy clubs under names like
"Ha Ha a Go Go."
When asked what got him into comedy, he replied, "The brochures
were very alluring. There was also a campus recruiter who had set up a stand with a banner
reading: 'Want to make people laugh at night and then sleep until noon?' Of course! That
sounded great to me."
His favorite joke has been this: "A friend of mine spent his entire
life trying to find the secret to immortality. You know what his dying words were? 'No,
that's not it either.' "
Milt has appeared on PBS' "Comedy Tonight" hosted by
Whoopi Goldberg, A&E's "Good Time Cafe," four spots on A&E's "Evening at
the Improv," the Comedy Channel's "Comics Only" and "Two Drink
Minimum" and Showtime's "Comedy Club Network."

"Our company has high expectations and your
act and its presentation had all attendees laughing hysterically for over thirty

"Our Intel group had a great time and enjoyed
your show tremendously. As our group consists largely of international cultures, it was
quite a task to cross so many cultural barriers and succeed so well. I've been told that
humor is a cultural identity, but you wouldn't know that during your performance. You made us laugh across the tables. I especially
appreciate that your material was clean and non-offensive. You respect the audience and
used the humor that touches us in universal ways: families, traffic, relationships. Many in the group felt this event was
best Intel had ever done! Thanks for an evening of laughter."
