P.O.D. is an American Christian nu-metal band formed in 1992 in San Diego, California. They have sold more than 12 million records worldwide and have received three Grammy Award nominations.

The band's history began in 1991 with friends Wuv Bernardo and Marcos Curiel playing at keg parties. After Sandoval's conversion to Christianity, Bernardo recruited Gabe Portillo and signed with Rescue Records.

In 2000, their album, The Fundamental Elements of Southtown, was certified platinum by the RIAA. Their following album, Satellite, continued their success with singles "Alive" and "Youth of the Nation", pushing it to go triple platinum.

In 2007, the band signed a record deal with INO Records and released their album, When Angels & Serpents Dance. The first single, "Addicted," peaked at No. 30 on the Mainstream Rock chart. In 2010, P.O.D. headlined the Spring Jam Fest and appeared on the Rock of Allegiance tour.

In November 2014, they released SoCal Sessions and The Awakening in August 2015, featuring guest vocalists. In 2016, they participated in the Make America Rock Again super tour. In 2018, they signed a new record deal with Mascot Records and toured with Alien Ant Farm, Lit and Buckcherry.

In 2021, they embarked on their Satellite 20th Anniversary tour. Veritas, their first studio album in six years, is expected to be released in May 2024.

P.O.D.'s influences include U2, Santana, Metallica, AC/DC, Suicidal Tendencies, Bob Marley, Primus, Earth, Wind & Fire and Steel Pulse.

Their discography includes 10 original studio albums, 1 acoustic studio album, 3 live albums, 1 compilation album, 2 video albums, 3 extended plays, 22 singles, 3 promotional singles, and 26 music videos.
